YALI advises Ministry of Gender to reposition itself

Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) has advised the Ministry of Gender to reposition itself and begin to be seen to be working.

YALI President Andrew Nthewewe says the ministry of gender has a big role to play in reducing the increasing cases of gender based violence, which role they don’t seem to be playing.

He says it is unacceptable that violence especially gender based violence involving young people has continued to increase.

Mr. Nthewewe says it is worrying that young people who are expected to contribute to the wellbeing of the nation are engaging in various forms of violence.

He states that engaging in any form violence may have negative repercussions which may affect their future.

Mr. Nthewewe says young people should begin to demonstrate that they are capable of running national affairs when their time comes.
