CEEC Director General Likando Mukumbuta says the commission is targeting farmers from 10 Districts in Western province.

Mr. Mukumbuta says the CEEC intends to support the 43,000 farmers by helping them setup plantations, while it will render support to the 17, 000 others by helping them rehabilitate their trees.

He has told QTV News that the commission will also provide loans in the value chain for farmers in the cashew business besides providing them with seedlings and crop husbandry services.

Mr Mukumbuta states that the CEEC is further looking at financing a minimum of 4 cashew manufacturing companies in order to enhance competition within the sector.
