HH challenged to apologize for his tribal undertone response

Opposition UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has been challenged to apologize for his recent alleged tribal undertone response to advice that his party goes for a convention.

In a video circulating on social media Mr. Hichilema is posted to have referred to Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) governance advisor Isaac Mwanza as being Mwana Wapakomo in response to his advice given during a live programme on one of the local radio stations in Lusaka this week.

And in an interview with QTV News Mr. Mwanza has wondered why Mr. Hichilema can refer to him as Mwana Wapakomo on the basis that he comes from the same region as President Edgar Lungu does.

Mr. Mwanza does not think for the fact that he originates from Eastern Province his opinion on certain issues will be as exact as that of President Lungu or any other person from his province.

He has urged Mr. Hichilema to be wary that his organization YALI which he suspects always speaks in favor of the PF government is in fact against President Lungu going for a third term.

Mr. Mwanza says UPND leader should thus be careful that his responses to advice does not end up confirming what has been alleged about him and his party that they are tribal.

He states that as far as YALI understands democracy it still, on the other hand, stands on its counsel that time is due for political parties such as the opposition UPND to go for a convention.
