CSPR urges govt to clear air on Zambia – Malawi maize scandal

patrick-nshindanoThe Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) has called on government to break the silence and give its position on the Zambia – Malawi maize scandal that has also promoted the Malawian President to appoint a commission of inquiry in this matter.

The organization is also urging the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) to take keen interest in this matter and investigate the allegations thoroughly.

CSPR Executive Director Patrick Nshindano says a lot has been heard from Malawi concerning this scandal and thus the need for the government to give its position on this matter.

Mr. Nshindano says President Lungu is on record having assured the nation that he will not tolerate any corrupt elements in his government.

He says the Head of State need to take action on this matter.
