UPND Chairman for Rural Reconstruction and Development Moono Mapani
The opposition UPND has castigated Agriculture Minister Dora Siliya for responding rudely to stakeholders who had expressed concern over her whereabouts during the outbreak of the Army Worms in most parts of the country.
The opposition political party feels that the Agriculture Minister acted irresponsibly to the genuine concerns that every responsible Zambian citizen would support amidst this calamity of the army worms.
UPND Chairman for Rural Reconstruction and Development Moono Mapani says Zambia has been advocating for economic diversification from the over dependency on Copper to venture in other sectors saying this will not be possible if the government is not committed.
Mr. Mapani says Ms Siliya ought to know and remember that she is in office purely to offer a service and not for her personal interests.
He says it was prudent that the minister when she heard of the calamity should have reported back for work in working with other stakeholders in controlling the outbreak of army worms.
He adds that the Minister’s response now exposes her that she is not in office to offer the required services in turning the agriculture sector into a viable one.
