Dr. Chishimba says the magnitude of the corruption in the maize export transaction begs for action from president Lungu before his party takes actions that will be embarrassing to government.

Dr. Chishimba says the corruption on maize exports is happening at the time that hunger is looming in Zambia due to outbreak of army worms, delayed supply of inputs to farmers and delayed payments to some farmers for the last farming season.

He says the huge profits from the exportation of maize show that it is the corrupt officials who are benefiting on the sweat and blood of the peasant farmers.

Dr. Chishimba has further assured that his party shall continue to provide checks and balances because his desire is to make sure that the nation remains on the right track.
