Army Worms spotted in Siavonga

The deadly Army Worms have been spotted in Siavonga District of Southern Province.

The army worms which were first recorded on the Copperbelt spread to Central, Luapula and Lusaka provinces.

And Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama has confirmed the development to QFM News via telephone that the worms are spotted in Matuwa, Bakada and Gwena areas affecting about 22 farmers.

Mr. Kanyama says to this effect, his office has received chemicals to control this outbreak of the army worms.

He has urged the farmers not to panic as government is doing everything possible to contain this outburst.

Mr. Kanyama says government has since started distributing these chemicals to the affected farmers.
