Lubinda reassures Judiciary of govt security from attacks

Justice Minister Given Lubinda has reassured the Judiciary that government will do its utmost to ensure the security of the judges and the protection of the judiciary from unwarranted attacks.

The Justice Minister has also recommended to the Minister of Home Affairs to ensure that in balancing the rights of party supporters to offer solidarity to their leaders, they should not wear party regalia.

Briefing journalists in Lusaka this afternoon, Mr. Lubinda says government will therefore ensure that all those involved in the disturbance at the judiciary are held accountable for their actions and dealt with in accordance with the law.

Mr. Lubinda has also called on political party leaders to respect the institutions that they themselves rely on and expect to serve them impartially, by ensuring that their cadres show decorum and restraint.
