TIZ extols Lungu

Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has praised President Edgar Lungu for showing political will in the fight against corruption this year compared to last year.

TIZ President Lee Habasonda notes that while there has been some slowness in dealing with suspected corruption cases, the Head of State has done extraordinary well this year.

Mr. Habasonda says President Lungu has shown political will in eradicating graft in the country.

He notes that the President is not seen to be shielding anyone found wanting, and hopes that he will continue with this spirit during his entire tenure of office.

Mr. Habasonda further notes that President Lungu has also instructed state institutions mandated to investigate corruption not to wait for him to investigate cases of corruption, saying this is the kind of zeal expected from the Head of State.
