Former Transport and Communications Minister William Harrington has encouraged UPP President Dr. Saviour Chishimba to take a bold step and present his ‘strong evidence’ to the Anti Corruption Commission over the maize deals going into neighboring Malawi and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Mr. Harrington says for as long as Dr. Chishimba continues to make statements through the media without taking necessary action, he will not succeed in anything.

He says this is a serious matter that he has raised over maize deals as the country is in dire need of maize and thus the need for him to help the nation by presenting his strong evidence before the ACC so that the commission can take up the matter.

Mr. Harrington says this is the matter that concerns all stakeholders saying in order to help the nation; he should not hesitate to work with relevant authorities in ensuring that the country’s maize is safeguarded.

Meanwhile, Mr. Harrington is saddened by the police brutality at the Lusaka High Court when they clashed with UPND cadres on Thursday.

He explains to QTV News that he was there when the whole fracas started saying the police provoked the cadres and in turn the cadres responded in defense.
