The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) has advised government to focus on re-fencing public funds that are meant for the poor if the country is to reduce the high poverty levels.

CSPR Executive Director Patrick Nshindano says Zambia’s poverty levels have remained high and thus the need to reduce them by prudently using the funds available.

Mr. Nshindano says the funds that have been meant for the poor do not end up to the ended people and this is the more reason why the government must ensure that these funds are not tampered with in order to get the best results.

He says this is the greatest challenge the nation is facing as far as achieving goals in reducing the high poverty levels are concerned.
