Church called upon to convene Indaba

The Church has been urged to convene an indaba of political parties and other stakeholders in view of the unresolved tension arising from the August 11 general election.

MMD faction leader Nevers Mumba has told QTV News that he believes the challenges being faced in Zambia require political parties, the civil society and other stakeholders to work together.

Dr. Mumba says there is need for a stakeholders indaba in view of the absence of a free media, free judiciary and basic freedoms in the country.

He states that governance stakeholders need to come up with resolutions of how to defend the country’s democracy if 2017 is to be a year of justice and dignity.
