Political parties in the Country have been called upon not to relent at rendering checks and balances as government implements the economic recovery program.

The opposition Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) believes that this is the role that the opposition has to play in lifting Zambia from the economic predicament it is currently in.
ZED president Frederick Mutesa has told QTV News in an interview that his party also thinks that the media and the civil society equally have individual roles to play.
Dr. Mutesa says the media and the civil society both have respective responsibilities of providing information and monitoring the measures government is undertaking.
He says the ZED supports the measures that government has put in place so far to salvage the economy.
