MMD disagrees, press freedom in Zambia is under threat

The opposition MMD says it does not agree with the recent observation by veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga that press freedom in Zambia is under threat.

MMD National Secretary Raphael Nakachinda says his party which is in a working alliance with the PF is doing more action than talking to ensure that the freedom of the press is protected.

Mr. Nakachinda says this is besides taking actions in addressing other challenges that the people of Zambia are facing such as the poor performance of the economy.

In an interview with QTV News Mr. Nakachinda says Dr. Mwaanga is however entitled to his own opinion on the plight of the media in Zambia.

Mr. Nakachinda thinks Dr. Mwaanga’s comments on press freedom in the Country could be those a concerned senior citizen or retired politician would want to make.

He says the retired veteran politician is speaking based on the lenses he is accessing press freedom in Zambia.
