Chipimo re-elected as NAREP president

National Restoration Party (NAREP) leader Elias Chipimo junior has been reelected as party leader at a party convention held in Lusaka this afternoon.

Mr. Chipimo got 65 votes to beat his rival Grace Gondwe who polled only 19 votes.

NAREP vice president for administration Charles Maboshe and his counterpart for politics Ngosa Mwelwa both went unopposed.

And Mr. Chipimo has thanked party members for the confidence they have shown in him to re-elect him as party leader.

Speaking shortly after the elections Mr. Chipimo assured party members that will not let them down.

Mr. Chipimo states that he will work with everyone in the party especially the women.

Meanwhile NAREP has also held elections for its national executive members.

The opposition party has also made some amendments to the party constitution with one of them being the party president being an automatic presidential candidate in an event of national general election.
