Patriotic Front Lawyer Tutwa Ngulube says there is nothing sinister about people calling for another Law Association to be created.

Mr. Ngulube, who is also Kabwe Central Member of Parliament, says it would be productive if the country can have two competing institutions saying this will result in the associations providing checks and balances.

Mr. Ngulube is urging the Law Association of Zambia to engage government than throwing patches at the ruling party.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr. Ngulube says under the LAZ Act has no mandate to regulate political statements.

He says the PF wants a judicial complaints commission which is impartial and professional because they have tasked it with a very difficult assignment of ensuring that the judges do not overstep their authority.

And Mr. Ngulube says the Patriotic Front will respect the rule of law saying they will not oversight the will of the people.

Speaking at the same event, Kasama Member of Parliament Kelvin Sampa urged the opposition United Party for National Development to accept that the PF government has a five year mandate to rule this country.
