Former Finance Minister Katele Kalumba has hailed government’s cautiousness on the number of jobs it has targeted to create in 2017.

Dr. Kalumba notes that the 100, 000 jobs the government has pledged to create in 2017 are realistic especially given Zambia’s current economic situation.

In an interview with Qfm News, Dr. Kalumba says it is expected that by the end of five years government would create up to half a million jobs as long as it creates 100, 000 jobs each year.

He says what is however important is to ensure that the jobs to be created are decent.
