ISCZ counsels against politicizing review of Constitution

The Islamic Supreme Council of Zambia has encouraged stakeholders to take advantage of the indication by government to amend the constitution to make submissions on the possible amendments.

Council President Suzyo Zimba says it is gratifying that following an outcry on the lacunas in the constitution, government has opened a door to amend the supreme law of the land.

Mr. Zimba says stakeholders should take advantage of this opportunity and make relevant submissions on which Articles in the constitution should be revisited.

He says the planned amendment of the constitution should not be politicized.

Mr. Zimba has since called on government to prioritize submissions that will come from the stakeholders on the amendment of the constitution.
