The Teaching Council of Zambia has extended the deadline for the submission of teacher registration applications to 15th December, 2016.

And the Council has so far received over 111, 000 applications from teachers across the country.

Teaching Council of Zambia Registrar, Dr. Ebby Mubanga has told QTV News that the extension of the registration deadline which was initially scheduled to close today, 30th November has been necessitated by the overwhelming response from teachers in the month of November.

Dr. Mubanga says teachers who have not yet submitted their application forms should do so within the next fifteen days.

He says the council expects all qualified teachers to begin with applying for registration and later for the practicing license in accordance with the law.

Dr. Mubanga has since appealed to teachers who have not yet registered not panic by travelling to Lusaka, but instead register from their respective District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) offices across the country.
