Cost reflective electricity tariffs will spur investments – Cohet

French Ambassador to Zambia Emmanuel Cohet says plans by government to move to cost reflective electricity tariffs will promote investment in Zambia’s energy sector.

Finance Minister Felix Mutati announced in his 2017 budget speech that government will by the end of 2017 move to cost reflective tariffs to attract private sector investment.

Mr Cohet says the move by government to move to cost reflective tariffs will promote investment in the energy sector.

He notes that Zambia has the potential to produce electricity to boost its economy.

Mr Cohet has told QTV News that a French Company has since won a very important tender to work on a solar power plant which he says will be the first of its kind in Zambia.
