The opposition Zambia Direct Democratic Movement (ZDDM) has questioned Zambia’s readiness to conduct another national referendum.

ZDDM leader

Edwin Sakala

ZDDM President Edwin Sakala says his party is concerned that the referendum that has been suggested on the Bill of Rights will be another waste of money as it is likely to be politicized.

He says the Country does also not have enough resources to waste on another referendum and thus the said referendum should be put on hold.

Mr. Sakala states that the ZDDM thinks that there are other pressing issues that the government needs to pay attention to

He the Country therefore needs to take its time and not rush to holding another referendum after the failed one.
