Dr. Mphuka has told QFM in an interview that this means that the budget should be anchored on measures to lower inflation and spur economic growth.

He however, states that the EAZ does not expect a high target of economic growth.

Dr. Mphuka says what his association wants to see in national budget are measures that will ensure there is sustainable growth and allow interest rates to come down.

He states that to this effect, the Economics Association of Zambia wants rationalization of government expenditure on one side and coming up with innovative way of increasing revenue on the other side.
