Chitotela takes swipe at Kawambwa Social Welfare officers

Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development, Ronald Chitotela has taken a swipe at Social Welfare department officers in Kawambwa for failure to properly manage the Social Cash Transfer programme.

Mr. Chitotela who is also PF Pambashe Constituency area Member of Parliament accused the officers of putting some people who are not eligible to benefit on the programme.

Addressing civil servants in Kawambwa today, the Minister says it is totally unacceptable that people from the same family are listed as programme beneficiaries disadvantaging others.

The Minister says social cash transfer is meant to reduce poverty among the most vulnerable people but wondered why officers erected not to follow the guidelines.

And Mr.Chitotela has warned that unless civil servants frustrating government efforts of service delivery change their attitude towards work, they risk being flushed out of the system.

He says time of politicking is over and people should now get to work and support the government of the day under President Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

 

Mr. Chitotela has encouraged civil servants to acquaint themselves with the PF manifesto provisions in order to avoid compromising government service delivery to the community.
