Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has challenged Cabinet Ministers who have been cited in the 2015 Auditor General’s report to consider stepping down to pave way for investigations.

TIZ Information Officer Charles Chulu says the challenge has already been put by President Edgar Lungu when he said he is looking into the evidence that is produced by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).

Recently President Lungu disclosed that he had received reports linking some Ministers to corrupt activities warning that he will not hesitate to relieve the said Ministers of their duties even before they are investigated by the ACC.

But Mr. Chulu says if some Ministers feel that the evidence is too overwhelming it is important that they step down and allow the due process to take its course.

Mr. Chulu says it is just important that Ministers who knows that they engaged themselves in corruption considers stepping down.
