The Zambia police have offered a reward of K100, 000.00 for anyone who will provide them with the information which will lead to the arrest and conviction of people connected to cases of arson happening in the country.

Police inspector general Kakoma Kanganja notes in a statement that the country has experienced numerous cases of fire incidences some of which he says are accidental while many others are believed to be orchestrated by people with criminal minds and ill motives.

Mr. Kanganja says the state of affairs which started with the setting ablaze of property in market places and now spreading to other properties, has resulted in a lot of people losing their valuable properties worth huge sums of money.

He has called upon all well meaning and patriotic citizens to join hands with the Police and ensure that all the criminals behind the spate of fires are fished out and arrested forthwith.

Mr. Kanganja says with the participation of members of the public, all the perpetrators of these atrocious acts will soon be brought to book so that the Law can take its course.

He says the police stand resolute to their objective of protecting people’s property as mandated to them by the constitution.

Mr. Kanganja states that Police have continued with their investigations in the matter and has warned all those that will be found wanting that they will not be spared but will be arrested and brought before the Courts of Law.
