Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) says Government should make a full disclosure to the Zambian citizens on every step of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout package.
TIZ Executive Director Goodwell Lungu says it is very prudent for government to inform the people of Zambia about the whole process as well as the potential benefits.
Mr Lungu says this will put a stop to past experiences where government has implemented IMF programmes which have backfired.
He notes that lack of transparency in the way such meetings are held has led to lose of confidence in government by the Zambian citizens.
And Mr Lungu adds that government should ensure to take into consideration views from the Zambian citizens to ensure that the bailout plan achieves the intended purpose and not injure the ordinary citizen.
He was commenting on the earlier announcement that Finance Minister is set to attend the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank groups.
