The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) has hailed President Edgar Lungu’s emphasis on the importance of peace in Zambia.

COMESA Assistant Secretary General Kipyego Cheluget says the president’s commitment to peace in his speech is what stood out for him.
In an interview with QTV News, Dr. Cheluget says in his view, President Lungu has in fact emphasized the historical role that Zambia has always played in terms of promoting peace in the region.
He states that the sense he is therefore getting is that Zambia will continue ensuring that peace and stability continues to prevail in the region.
