TIZ urges Registrar of the constitutional court to pursue ex-ministers

Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has called on the Registrar of the Constitutional Court to write to all individual ex- ministers and notify them how much they illegally accrued when they served as Ministers after Parliament was dissolved.

TIZ Executive Director Goodwell Lungu says the registrar of the Constitutional Court should provide guidelines on how the refunds accrued by ministers should be effected.

He is advising the former Ministers to cooperate and pay the monies back instead of trying to engage the Auditor General to overlook the Constitutional court ruling.

Mr Lungu says there is no provision in the constitution where states that the ruling of the Constitutional Court can be reviewed hence the need for the former Minister to just pay and move on.
