Lusaka Mayor Wilson Kalumba says he will work hard to improve the Lusaka city council’s service delivery and revenue collection.
Speaking after being sworn-in today, Mr Kalumba observed that despite the many strides the council has made in the last five years, Lusaka has continued to experience developmental challenges.
Mr Kalumba notes that most of these developmental challenges have frustrated the efforts of the Council to effectively carry out its functions.
Mr. Kalumba adds that his vision is to lead Lusaka City Council on a path of financial sustainability.
He says he will do this through his experience as a business man.
And speaking when he officiated at the installation ceremony, Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo urged the Mayor to work with different stakeholders in developing the city.
Mr. Kampyongo further called on the Mayor and the councilors to ensure they address the confusion in the markets and bus stations in Lusaka.
