Copperbelt Minister Bowman Lusambo has cautioned civil servants in the province to stop engaging in partisan politics especially now that elections are over.

Mr. Lusambo, who is also Kabushi PF Member of Parliament, says civil servants should realise that their allegiance is to President Edgar Lungu and the government of the day.

Mr. Lusambo says President Lungu is in a hurry to develop the country and that civil servants found frustrating developmental efforts will be disciplined.

The Copperbelt Province Minister was speaking when he officiated at the 2016 Lesa Nkushe traditional ceremony of Chieftainess Lesa’s people of Mpongwe district.

He says the PF government remains committed to fostering unity and peace across the country.

Mr. Lusambo states that Zambians should not allow politics to divide the nation.

He furthermore states that government will always rely on the knowledge and wisdom from traditional leaders in governing the country in a bid to sustain the peace and tranquility that the country has enjoyed since independence.

The Lesa Nkushe traditional ceremony of the Bulima people of Chieftainess Lesa of Mpongwe district is held annually to depict the people’s experience during their migration from the Luba-Lunda Kingdom of Kola in Angola and transit through conga to present day Zambia.

And speaking on behalf of all the Lamba Chiefs, Senior Chief Chiwala disclosed that the traditional leadership in the province has welcomed the appointment of Mr. Lusambo as Provincial Minister.

Senior Chief Chiwala has commended President Lungu for appointing Mr. Lusambo as Provincial Minister whom the Chiefs consider to be their own son since he hails from Lamba land.

The traditional leader says the royal highnesses in the province are looking forward to a cordial working relationship with Mr. Lusambo.

Senior Chief Chiwala says the traditional leaders are confident that Mr. Lusambo will deliver to the expectations of the royal highnesses and the people of the Copperbelt.
