UPND told to provide quality checks & balances

Former UPND Deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo has advised the opposition UPND to provide the much needed checks and balances on the government.

Mr. Lifwekelo, who is now a PF member, says the people of Zambia are expecting the UPND which is perceived to be the strongest opposition to remain viable and offer the checks and balances to the government.

And Mr. Lifwekelo says the UPND has every right to take their elections grievances to the International Criminal Court.

He says he cannot condemn the UPND’s move to go to the ICC but rather advise them to remain relevant to the governance system of the country.

Meanwhile, Mr. Lifwekelo has called on parliamentarians to consider relooking at the amended constitution and identify errors that may hinder national development.
