The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) has noted that Zambia has made progress in poverty eradication as evidence by 2010 and 2015 statistics from the Central Statistical Office.

CSPR Executive Director Patrick Nshindano is urging government to come up with programmes which will stimulate rural development not only as a way to fight poverty, but also the inequality gap that currently exists in the country.

He says government should focus on programs that target the poor by promoting Small Scale businesses in Zambia and value chain in all areas of production such as Mining and Agriculture.

Mr. Nshindano laments that the gap between the poor and the rich keeps increasing.
