A showdown is looming in the Patriotic Front ahead of the Lusaka deputy Mayoral elections.
This as Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Mwila has maintained that Mpulungu Ward 23 Councilor Christopher Shakafuswa is the party’s candidate for the position of Lusaka Deputy Mayor, while President Edgar Lungu’s daughter Tasila has vowed to go ahead and contest for the same position.
Mr Mwila says the party’s position to settle for Mr. Shakafuswa has not changed.
Mr. Mwila has told QTV News that the ruling PF has rules which all party members have to follow.
He states that this means that if the party settles on one candidate, all other members have to respect such a decision.
Mr Mwila says this is exactly what happened when Ms Lungu was picked among other aspiring candidates to stand as Nkoloma Ward Councilor in the August 11 general election.
