Police arrest UPND lawyer Mushipe for seditious practices

Police have charged and arrested UPND Lawyer Martha Mushipe for the offence of Seditious Practices Contrary to section 57 ( 1 ) (c) (d) and (2) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo says Ms Mushipe 51, is on unknown date but between 1^st July, 2015 and 11^th April, 2016 whilst acting together with other unknown persons had in her possession, Seditious materials without lawful excuse.

Ms Katongo says Ms. Mushipe has since appeared in Court for mention.

And Ms Mushipe’s lawyer Chad Muleza says the arrest of his client is in relation to the document found at her law firm when police conducted a search in April this year.
