Ex-Ministers condemned for wanting to appeal ConCourt ruling

The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has condemned the recent indication by some former Ministers to challenge the Constitutional Court’s ruling for them to pay back the money they earned during the time they were in office illegally.

Some former Ministers have written to the Attorney General Likando Kalaluka to revisit the Constitutional Courts ruling.

But FODEP National Secretary Jacob Goma has joined stakeholders demanding that the former ministers repay the monies they earned after the dissolution of parliament.

Mr. Goma says this is considering the fact that President Lungu said he would respect the ruling, and has wondered where the former Ministers are getting the courage from.

He stresses that the ruling of the Constitutional Court is final and cannot be appealed against thus the need for all former Ministers to pay back the money as ruled by the Court.
