The Anti-Corruption Commission in Kasama has arrested an Environmental Health Officer and a Driver for Abuse of Authority of Office and uttering a false document respectively.

John Shatamuka, 34, an Environmental Health Officer of House No. 46 Kafula Musungu Road, Newtown, has been charged with one count of Abuse of Authority of Office contrary to section 21(1)(a) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 3 of 2012, while  Innocent Musosa, 36, a Driver  of House No. 42 Hospital Compound in Chilubula, who at the time was an employee of Flexlink Enterprises  has been charged with one count of Uttering a False Document contrary to section 352 of Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Details are that Shatamuka, on unknown dates but between 1st May, 2014 and 30th June, 2014 in Kasama, being a public officer namely  Environmental Health Officer at Kasama District Health Office did abuse his authority of office in the manner that he without following laid down Public Procurement Regulations and Procedures engaged in the collection of quotations and directed that a Local Purchase Order in favor of Flexlink enterprises be raised, a matter or transaction concerning the Kasama District Health Office.

In the 2nd Count, details are that on unknown dates but between 1st May, 2014 and 30TH June, 2014, Musosa being a businessman working for Flexlink Enterprises prepared and presented quotation number 0369 dated 04.06.14 in the name of Jokamu General Dealers to Kasama District Health Office purporting the same to be genuine when in fact not, a matter or transaction concerning the Kasama District Health Office.
