Harry Kalaba and Yang Youming

Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba says government appreciates the fact that the Chinese Government has always been there to support Zambia even during challenging times.

Mr. Kalaba said this when Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Yang Youming presented a congratulatory letter to him from the Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister on his reappointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Kalaba says Zambia is looking forward to working with the Chinese Government in putting up necessary infrastructure in order to host a successful 2022 African Union (AU) Heads of State Summit.

Mr. Kalaba says Zambia has always considered China as an all weather friend and is keen on strengthening the ties that exist between the two countries.

Speaking at the same event, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Yang Youming says the Chinese government wants to closely work with the government of Zambia in implementing the outcome of the Forum for China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) so as to push the relationship between Zambia and China to a higher level.
