EAZ President Chrispin Mphuka
The Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) has called upon newly appointed Finance Minister Felix Mutati to uphold proper economic principles as he presides over the country’s economy.
EAZ President Chrispin Mphuka says his association particularly hopes that Mr. Mutati will uphold fiscal discipline in the public sector for the betterment of the Country.
In an interview with Qfm News Dr. Mphuka says this is what the EAZ thinks is the main thing.
Dr. Mphuka notes that Mr. Mutati has to also ensure that what government has committed to, especially issues of fiscal consolidation and discipline are seen through.
He notes that as the planning process for the Country’s National Development Plan is still underway, the EAZ expects that what is happening in the Ministry of National Development and Planning will be in conformity with what is happing in the Ministry of Finance.
Dr. Mphuka says this is in order that what comes out in the national budget supports the Country’s National Development Plan.
