The opposition Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) has warned against underestimating the division that the August 11th general elections have left in Zambia.

ADD president Charles Milupi says his party is concerned that if this division is not properly handled it might cause major splits in the nation.

In an interview with QTV News Mr. Milupi says the ADD holds the view that the first thing that whoever assumes leadership under the current environment must do is to try and reconcile the nation.

Mr. Milupi says it is up to the winner of the August 11th presidential election to look how divided in half Zambia is and come with measure and policies that seeks to bring the nation together.

He says this includes the new appointments that are to be made in government.

Mr. Milupi notes that so far he has not seen  any such measures or policies coming from President Edgar Lungu ever since he was inaugurated as the Country’s Head of State.

He says this is both in his language and actions as well as the few appointments he made so far.
