President Edgar Lungu has nominated and appointed Pastor Godfridah Sumaili as Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs.

This brings the number of nominated Members of Parliament to eight.

Special Assistance to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda has told Journalists in Lusaka that she has not being sworn in yet because parliament has not yet approved the establishment of this new ministry.

Mr. Chanda explains that as per law requirement, a motion has to be moved in parliament for the establishment of the new ministry.

He says it is for this reason that the Head of State is waiting for the approval of parliament before Pastor Sumaili can be sworn in.

And Mr. Chanda says President Lungu has replaced former PF Secretary General Davies Chama with former Home Affairs Minister Davies Mwila as the new PF Secretary General.
