Pay the farmers, Nsamba appeals to FRA

Chief Nsamba of the Unga people in Samfya District of Luapula Province has appealed to the Food Reserve Agency to pay farmers in his chiefdom who have supplied maize.

He says farmers have waited for more than the stipulated two weeks when they are supposed to be paid after delivering the maize.

Chief Nsamba says it is not fair for the farmers to start borrowing money just to feed their families when they sold their maize to the Food Reserve Agency a long time ago.

The traditional leader says farmers need to plan in advance for the next farming season, but that the delay in paying them is frustrating them.
