NCC Executive Director Charles Mushota says the council’s concern is particularly that many of these complaints are coming from observers who not even engineers.

Mr. Mushota states that it is in fact disappointing that laymen now appear to be more knowledgeable about issues of quality than professionals themselves.

He says the NCC is of the view that players in the construction industry can do better than what they are giving the people of Zambia in terms of the quality works.

Mr. Mushota says he personally finds it unfair for any construction company engaged to carry out a government project to compromise on quality.
