Al-Sisi, 3 others congratulate Lungu

Four Heads of State have congratulated President Edgar Lungu on his re-election as Zambia’s sixth President.

The Four Heads of State are Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Egypt, Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone, Giorgi Margvelashvili of Georgia and Tomislav Nikolić of Serbia.

President Sisi says President Lungu’s victory confirms the Zambian people’s trust and confidence in his wisdom and leadership of the nation towards more progress, development and prosperity.

He has also wished President Lungu success.

President Koroma of Sierra Leone says the re-election of President Lungu shows the overwhelming support and confidence Zambians have in him and his principles.

Dr. Koroma is satisfied that the fraternal bond that has existed between the Governments of Sierra Leone and Zambia over the years has proved beneficial for the two nations.

President Koroma has also prayed that the excellent relationship between the two countries will be deepened and will continue to grow from strength to strength.

And President Margvelashvili of Georgia also notes that President Lungu’s victory is a confirmation of the confidence that the people of Zambia have in his leadership.

President Margvelashvili has stressed that under these special circumstances it is important to strengthen partnership between Georgia and Zambia in different areas of cooperation.

He is optimistic that President Lungu’s re-election will further contribute to deepening and strengthening of friendly ties between his Country and Zambia.

Meanwhile President Nikolić of Serbia says Serbia and Zambia have been tied by longstanding and sincere friendship, reflected through cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels.

President Nikolić says this is particularly in the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement, which testifies the two countries’ historical roles in international relations and world politics of the 20th century.

He has since expressed confidence that Serbia and Zambia will continue to successfully develop cooperation in all areas, drawing on the long established friendly relations between the two countries.
