ECZ hints on electronic voting system

The Electoral Commission of Zambia has hinted at plans to introduce the electronic voting system in future elections.

Stakeholders have implored the Commission to consider investing in electronic voting in order to improve election management.

ECZ Public Relations Manager Crispin Akufuna has told QTV News that the commission is aware of the need to go electronic in a number of areas pertaining to the electoral process.

He says the commission is already taking a bold decision as evidenced from the just ended general election where election results were transmitted electronically, but verified manually.

Mr Akufuna, however, says stakeholders will have to come on board and agree with the Commission on the need to introduce electronic voting.
