Two Zambians report ConCourt Judges to Judicial Complaints Authority

Two Zambian Citizens have lodged a complaint with the Judicial Complaints Authority seeking the removal of all Constitutional Court judges for alleged incompetence and violation of the Constitution.

The duo is arguing that the judges also violated their Judicial Oaths and Section 5 of the Official Oaths Act.

Emmanuel Mtonga and Alfred Mbewe both of Lusaka have further argued that the constitutional court judges failed to interpret Article 101 (5) of the amended constitution thereby complicating the whole presidential petition process.

Mr. Mtonga has told QTV News that their lodging of the complaint with the Judicial Complaints Authority is as a result of the fact that the Constitutional Court failed to terminate the proceedings of the petition at midnight of 2nd September, 2016 when the stipulated 14 days had elapsed.

He adds that the Judges also ignored their own rulings that determine when the proceedings will terminate.
