ZABS Marketing and Public Relations Manager Hazel Zulu
Four thousand one hundred and sixty eighty (4,168) product samples have been analyzed and tested for various companies to check compliance levels from the beginning of the year to date.
Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) Head of Marketing and Public Relations Hazel Zulu has explained that in the first quarter, ZABS tested 2,016 whereas 2,152 product samples were tested in the second quarter.
Ms. Zulu points out that the products tested include miscellaneous food stuffs, petroleum samples, water and fruit-flavored drinks among others.
She says they are confident that if industry in general can subject their products to laboratory tests and analysis, then the country is on the right path to promoting trade not only at national level but also international level.
Ms. Zulu has since called on manufacturers to make maximum use of the facilities that the government of the republic of Zambia has made available to them through ZABS for the examination and testing of commodities to which standards apply.
