Nchanga chase elusive win over Napsa

Nchanga Rangers and Napsa Stars clash on Friday in a battle for survival at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola, as the relegation countdown begins to gather pace with nine games left to play in the 2016 Faz Super League season.

Hosts Nchanga and Napsa are currently 9th and 14th on 28 and 25 points respectively, ahead of the fixture.

Nchanga may be five places above Napsa, but they have not enjoyed any advantage over the Lusaka side for some time.

Napsa are unbeaten against Nchanga in their last three matches since September 2014, when Nchanga won 4-1 at home in Chingola.

Since then, Napsa has picked up two wins and a draw with their first leg meeting in the 2016 season finishing 1-0 in Lusaka.

The pressure is on the Nchanga bench, who are heading to the final of the three-match must-win ultimatum, which began with a 1-0 home defeat against Nkana a fortnight ago, and a 0-0 draw away to Mufulira Wanderers last weekend.

Nchanga have one absentee for Friday’s match, with influential defensive midfielder Clement Mwape absent due to a family bereavement.

Napsa, on the other hand, head to Chingola on the back of a four-match unbeaten run with two wins and as many draws since losing 1-0 at home against Red Arrows on 31 July.
