Ministry of Religious Affairs is not necessary – FDD

The Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) says there is no need to increase the number of Cabinet Ministers by creating the ministry of religious affairs.

FDD Spokesperson Antonio Mwanza says the country’s treasury is already stressed and that creating another ministry will be an unnecessary additional cost.

Mr. Mwanza has since appealed to Members of Parliament not to allow the creation of another ministry.

He points out that church mother bodies are there to take care of religious matters in the country.

President Lungu last week announced plans to create a new ministry to deal with religious affairs.
