Ghana’s Mahama congratulates Lungu

Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has joined in congratulating President Edgar Lungu on his re-election in the August 11 polls.

In his message of congratulations dated 26^th August, 2016, President Mahama described the re-election of President Lungu as a decisive feat that demonstrates recognition by the people of Zambia of the excellent qualities he possesses.

President Mahama is confident that President Lungu will steer the country in the direction of peace and prosperity.

The Ghanaian President also expressed confidence that with this endorsement of President Lungu’s mandate, the existing bonds of friendship between Zambia and Ghana will further be enhanced in future in a manner beneficial to the peoples of both countries.

He noted that Zambia has further demonstrated to the rest of the world, through the orderly nature of the transition, that it is a progressively maturing democracy and a symbol of peace worth emulating.
