Lungu’s Ministry of Religion plans hailed

Some Lusaka residents have hailed President-elect Edgar Lungu’s plans to reintroduce the Ministry in charge of Religious Affairs saying this will cement Zambia’s Christian Nation status.

Some of the residents talked to by QFM News say ministry will further help in promoting Christian values in the country.

James Kunda, a Taxi Driver says it is commendable that President Lungu has decided to bring back the ministry which existed during second president Fredrick Chiluba’s time.

Mwansa Bulaya says all efforts aimed at promoting Christianity and oneness should be supported by all Zambians.

But Lucky Himaambo hopes President Lungu is not doing things only to win the support of the people, but has genuine intentions for the benefit of the entire nation.

Albert Banda is hoping that this ministry will be proactive in preaching love and unity noting that the nation at the moment appears to be divided and needs an institution that will help in bringing the people together.

And Mwape Sankalimba has described the move as a positive one which should not be politicized because it will benefit all Zambians.
